Ghaziabad, September 9: A five-year-old kindergarten child became a victim of rash driving on Saturday. The girl was run over by her school bus that dropped at home. Saumya was disembarking from the bus, the driver accelerated to drive and the head of the child came under one of the tyres of the bus at Mehrauli near National Highway-24 in Ghaziabad.
The bus, hired by the Silver Shine School located in Mahendra Enclave in Ghaziabad dropped Saumya at 2 pm. A neighbour of the young girl was quoted by Hindustan Times saying Saumya’s mother had earlier complained that the driver of the bus is always in a hurry and today the same thing happened after the five-year-old disembarked from the bus, the driver pushed the pedal in a hurry to accelerate after which the girl fell and her head was crushed by tyres.
Her grandmother saw it in front of her eyes as she was waiting for Saumya’s arrival at the drop point in Mehrauli. Right after the incident, police rushed to the spot to arrest the driver and the bus conductor. Agitated by the incident, the locals vandalised the bus.
