Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar demands dismissal of the Kejriwal Government

NEW DELHI, May 20, 2023—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar demanded the dismissal of the Kejriwal Government, and clamping of  President’s  rule in Delhi, as the Kejriwal Government, instead of concentrating on good governance and development works, was threatening and pressurizing officials to do its bidding to cover up the AAP Government’s misdeeds and corruption, in violation of all rules and regulations. He said that Delhi Minister Saurav Bhardwaj threatened and pressurized senior bureaucrat Ashish More, who was removed from his post as Delhi’s Services Secretary, and he has sent a complaint against Bhardwaj to the Chief Secretary and the Lt. Governor, alleging misbehavior by the Minister. He said that such  a thing was unheard of happening when Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that according to Ashish More, Saurav Bhardwaj called him to his chamber on May 16, 2023 and “misbehaved with him and threatened to ruin his career”, and he has appealed to the Chief Secretary for security for himself. He said that the Kejriwal Government has created a chaotic and unsettling situation, and under such an atmosphere, it was difficult for officials to carry out their duty with honesty and sincerity. He said that President’s rule should be imposed in Delhi after sacking the Kejriwal Government to carry out the development works and welfare works of the people, held up for the past 9 years.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government has a terrible reputation of threatening and manhandling officials, including assault of a former Chief Secretary at Kejriwal’s residence on February 19, 2018 in the presence of Kejriwal, then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 11 MLAs. He said that Kejriwal, who rode to power in the name of the common people, has done nothing for them, other than indulging in constant shadow-boxing with the Lt. Governor, to stall development and good governance. He said that  Kejriwal and his Ministers and MLAs have threatened and abused officials, with instances such a water tanker owner, Dr Rajendra Singh, committing suicide due to the harassment and extortion demands by SangamVihar AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal, former AAP Government Law Minister Somnath Bharti tresspassing into the house of a foreign lady in Malviya Nagar, and the Seelampur AAP MLA and his wife assaulting a school principal. He said that a Delhi Court recently sentenced AAP Model Town MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi to stand “till rising of the court” for one day for assaulting a law student for which he was convicted in March.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government has wasted the past nine years in corruption, clashes with the bureaucrats and the Lt. Governor, to create an atmosphere of chaos and lawlessness to make the lives of the people miserable, when the common people have been battling price rise, unemployment and shortage of  potable water in many areas of Delhi.
