Srinagar, Aug 13: Three terrorists were killed and two Army jawans – Sepoy Ilayaraja P and Sepoy Gowai Sumedh Waman – were martyred in an encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. As per the latest reports, two pouches, a mobile phone and two phirans have been recovered during the search operation which, currently is underway in the area.
While informing about the operation, J&K DGP SP Vaid said that inupts about terrorists hiding in Shopian were received after which a cordon was laid in the area. He also said that two security personnel have been martyred, while three others have been injured. “One terrorist eliminated and two still hiding in adjoining house,” he added.
