Registration For Common Admission Test Starts Today

IIMs to Conduct Test on November 26

New Delhi, August 9: The registration process for ambitious Common Entrance Test(CAT) began on Wednesday. The process will continue till September 20. The bulletin issued by IIMs stated, “At the time of registration, the candidates have to select any four Test Cities as per their preference from the drop down menu. After the last date of registration, candidates will be allotted one among the 4 preferred cities and either of the two sessions. In the rare case that a candidate is not allotted any of the preferred cities, he/she will be allotted a nearby city.”

TEST CENTRES

CAT will be conducted in centres spread across around 140 test cities. Details about the test centres in these test cities will be available on its website from October 18, 2017, and the name of the test centre will be indicated in the Admit Card.

PAYMENT OF CAT REGISTRATION FEE

Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Disabled category candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹900 while ₹1800 is fixed for all other categories of candidates.

CAT 2017 ELIGIBILITY

The candidate must hold a Bachelor‟s Degree, with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA [45 percent
in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PWD) categories], awarded by any University.

The CAT 2017 Scores are allowed to be used by the listed non-IIM member institutions. List of non-IIM member institutions that have registered to avail the CAT 2017 scores is provided at www.iimcat.ac.in. IIMs play no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.
