Delhi Government does not have funds to pay the salaries of the colleges under its direct control : Ch. Anil Kumar

NEW DELHI, September 9, 2022—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government has been claiming that it had a surplus budget, yet its lie was exposed when the Delhi Government failed to pay the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff of 12 Colleges under its direct control, for the past few months. He said that Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia had presented a Rs 75,800 cr  ‘Rozgar Budget’ for Delhi this years, which  “aimed to generate 20 lakh jobs in the next five years”, yet according to a notice issued  by the officiating principal of the Deen Dayal Upadhaya College under the Delhi Government, “due to paucity of funds, Rs 30,000 has been retained form Net Salary of Assistant Professors and Rs 50,000 from the Net Salary of Associate Professors/Professors for the month of July 2022!”.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Chief Minister  Kejriwal has been mouthing lies about Delhi having a  ‘surplus budget’, as the Capital has a loan burden of Rs 38155 crore, to make it a revenue deficit State. Ch. Anil Kumar said that Kejriwal and Sisodia have turned Delhi, a revenue surplus State, into a revenue deficit State in 2021-22, in comparison to the GDP of the State.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that this was the kind of “Delhi Model of Education” Kejriwal and Sisodia (who is also the Education and Excise Minister) were propagating as they don’t have the money to pay the salaries of teachers, though it had enough funds to dole out Rs 144 cr  relief  to the Liquor Mafia for favours done to fill the pockets of Kejriwal and Sisodia with slush funds.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Kejriwal has been promising all sorts of “freebies” to people in Assembly election-bound States, yet within six months after coming to power, the AAP Government in Punjab was struggling to pay the salaries of Government employees, though Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been given Z-plus security by the cash-strapped Punjab Government, though Kejriwal does not get that kind of security cover in Delhi.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the “Delhi Model of Education” has become a big joke not only in Delhi, but also across the country, as students of Government schools indulging in rowdy behavior and parents beating up teachers due to the disturbed state of Government schools, have become common occurrences.
