NHRC warns DARPG to submit report on NPS

New Delhi (08/08/2022): On a pitition from Manjeet Singh Patel, the president of National movement for old pension scheme Delhi, NHRC issued a final reminder to the Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Pension Grievances to submit its report on NPS issues. After appeal from NMOPS Delhi on 10 December 2021, the NHRC filed a pitition against injustice of National Pension Scheme implemented by year 2004. The commission asked the central government to frame a committee on issues in NPS. Patel told that after no responses from the concerned department, the NHRC warned the DARPG on 06 June 2022 to submit its report to NHRC within a month. Otherwise NHRC will proceed according to PHR Act 1993 (article-13) against DARPG.

He told that NMOPS is running a nation wide movement against NPS and now Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh states have reimplemented old pension scheme by scrapping NPS in their states. Also it was the latest biggest issue in U.P. state elections. Now Himachal Pradesh is also facing this issue very widely. Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Maharshtra and Himachal have been also framed the committees to review NPS after protests against NPS.
