New Delhi, July 19: IndiGo has lifted the ban on Telugu Desam lawmaker Diwakar Reddy, who was not allowed to fly with the airline. Earlier in June, IndiGo had put the Member of Parliament on the no-fly list following an alleged unruly behaviour at the Vishakhapatnam airport as he was denied boarding for an IndiGo flight. The other domestic airlines followed IndiGo and also decided not to fly the lawmaker.
The airline on Wednesday issued a statement saying that senior IndiGo officials met Diwakar Reddy at a lunch hosted by senior MP YS Chaudhary to resolve the matter.
“The issue of putting Mr Diwakar Reddy in no fly list is amicably resolved between the two and IndiGo has decided to lift the ban with immediate effect,” the airline said in a statement. The airline further added that Diwakar Reddy is also withdrawing the case filed against the airline.
