On World Health Day, Age Care India felicitates a 102 year old healthy Army veteran

New Delhi, 8th April: On the eve of World Health Day, Age Care India, along with National Medical Forum and Sanjeevan Hospital, observed Healthy Ageing programme in New Delhi.

During the programme, Dr Prem Aggarwal, Chairman of 40 year old Sanjeevan hospital of Central Delhi offered complimentary/free medical examination to all the members of Age Care India and their families, under all heads, which would normally be expensive.

Further, Mr Baldev Raj Dutta, a distinguished senior citizen was bestowed Distinguished Centurion Honour 2022 during this programme.

Even at the age of 102, Mr Dutta is alert, his hearing and sight are normal – walks with the help of a walker. He is always cheerful – watching news and IPL with great interest and attention.

Mr. Baldev Raj Dutta was born in Multan now in Pakistan on 23rd December 1920. He joined the Royal British Indian Army as a subedar and fought the World War 2. He was awarded commendations both in 1942 and 1943 and was mentioned in the London gazette.

After partition of the country in 1947 he joined the Delhi police and retired from active
service in the year 1979. He served as a personal body guard to the Late Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi for many years. He had a most distinguished career and earned a reputation of a dependable responsible officer. He retired from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Delhi Police.

He lives with his family and is leading a peaceful retired life. He enjoys a healthy life and has no ailments no medication except those related to old age.

His two sons and three grandsons are practising lawyers. Mr Dutta is a role model for senior citizens and everyone to emulate.
