Funds for amount of Rs.915.69 Crores, Rs.865.83 Crores, and Rs.856.65 Crores were released under Child Protection Services Scheme during the financial year 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 respectively. Funds under the Child Protection Services Scheme are placed to the States based on the requirements and utilisation of the same by the respective States/UTs Governments.
The Ministry is implementing Mission Vatsalya which aims to take initiatives for protection and comprehensive development of children and shall subsume the existing scheme of Child Protection Services along with introduction of new elements. The objectives of the scheme are (i) Support and sustain Children in difficult circumstances, (ii) Develop context-based solutions for holistic development of children from varied backgrounds, (iii) Provide scope for innovative solutions, and (iv) Cement convergent action by Intra Ministry and Inter Ministry convergence actions.
Further the Ministry regularly engages with all State/UTs and from time to time has shared various advisories and guidelines for continued and uninterrupted delivery of services and also for effective implementation of the scheme.
