Severe jolt for AAP as core founder member Himanshu Pathak joins Congress
Kartarpur, January 25
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday suffered a shocking setback when its core founder member Himanshu Pathak joined the Congress in Punjab.
An AAP strongman in the vital Malwa and Doaba areas, Himanshu was involved in the drafting of the party’s constitution and was a pioneer of the Punjab Against Drugs movement.
Pledging his unconditional allegiance to the Congress, Himanshu extended his full support to party president Captain Amarinder Singh in his war against the nefarious designs of AAP.
Only the Congress, under Captain Amarinder’s leadership, could save the state and its people from being gobbled up by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his cronies, whose only agenda in the Punjab polls was to fill their pockets with as much money as they could.
Captain Amarinder said Himanshu’s joining had further strengthened the Congress in the Malwa and Doaba areas, where the disillusionment against the AAP leadership, including Kejriwal, was spreading fast as the polling date was drawing closer.
Himanshu said Kejriwal and his party had no concern about the welfare of Punjab and his people. They were a group of corrupt individuals with no ideology except their personal agenda to promote, he added.
