Exhibition of paintings by IAS officers and their families

Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma

It is always a matter of both blessed opportunity and choices one makes to find oneself in the presence of art and beauty. Here I am at an exhibition of paintings, made by civil services officers and their family members organised over the last weekend by the RWA of New Motibagh colony, New Delhi. Some, not all, of the art pieces were source of so much joy, inspiration and thought. Although I am no art expert, I found especially these delightful acrylic and water paintings by Abhimanyu Singh Sekhon bringing me much peace, joy and serenity. Unfortunately it was the third day of the three day event but a great idea executed very well by the RWA of New Motibagh colony that was open to all. In my humble opinion, It is in these small gestures and actions that the essence of culture of a society lies.
