👉🏾The ‘Dilli Chalo’ movement on 6th June has three components.
1. Dilli Chalo (protest in the National Capital) 9 am to 2 PM starting at Rajghat.
2. Pendown strike by all the doctors of India (in order to protect the prescription rights of doctors). All doctors in the country not present at Rajghat to get connected to the movement digitally through phone or iPad. Live webcast through many platforms.
3. Shut down in all medical colleges in India (No to NEXT; STOP NMC. Amend IMC).
All the 3 components should be given equal priority since each mobilises different sections of the medical fraternity.
The Dilli Chalo protest in the national capital is the grand finale of the agitations IMA has conducted in the past few months.
1. Dilli Chalo
a) The state branches should take charge of mobilising all the state leaders and CWC members to go over to Delhi.
b) The unit of action in Dilli chalo movement shall be the local branch. Every branch should send IMA Satyagrhis to Dilli chalo. Fifty percent of the funds collected in a local branch should be retained in the branch itself for their travel.
2. Pendown strike
Pendown strike by all the doctors of your state should be ensured between 10 am to 11 am on 6th June to reiterate the prescription rights of the medical profession. No prescription will be written during this period. Emergency care should be provided.
During this period to show solidarity all doctors should be connected with the movement digitally.
3. NO to NEXT: STOP NMC – Amend IMC
IMA State President and State Secretary should address the medical students directly and organise the action on 6th June under students wing of IMA. Students should be sensitised that:
a) They are being asked by the Government to sit for another examination after final MBBS graduation to obtain their legitimate license to practise. NO to NEXT should be the slogan.
b) The NMC bill abolishes section 15.2.b of MCI Act which says that the basic qualification to practise modern medicine is MBBS. Schedule 4 of NMC allows AYUSH graduates to register in the National Medical Commission. They not only become eligible to practise modern medicine, they can also appear for PG NEET in modern medicine.
We exhort all of you to begin action in the all the 3 formats. Involve every IMA leader and delegate responsibility. Apart from the core 3 activities the state branch also should sensitise important MPs of the state regarding the issues. This interaction should be taken up by the state leadership directly.
Thanking you
Dr K K Aggarwal, National President
Dr R N Tandon, Honorary Secretary
