
Jet Airways is offering discounts on overseas one-way and return journeys from India on or after July 1
Jet Airways has announced discounted airfares with tickets starting from an all-inclusive Rs 1,079 for select flights within India in a limited-period promotional offer. Under its ’24-Hour Sale’, Jet Airways is also offering a 15 per cent discount on base fares in Premiere and Economy class international flights from India, it said on its website. Jet Airways – which competes with the likes of Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet, did not give the number of tickets on offer under the special tariffs sale. Bookings under Jet Airways’ 24-hour sale can be made till May 31, the airline further said.
Within India: In the domestic sector, Jet Airways’ 24-hour sale is valid on one-way flights between June 20 and September 20 this year. "Tickets must be purchased a minimum of 20 days prior departure," Jet Airways’ website noted.
A search on the Jet Airways bookings portal showed tickets for one-way journeys from Delhi to Chandigarh and Mumbai to Bengaluru next month-end were available from Rs 1,827 and Rs 1,991, respectively


Overseas: Discounts on international flights from India are applicable on one-way and return journeys on or after July 1, 2017, Jet Airways said, adding: "This offer is not applicable for bookings done using the Multicity option."

Airlines operating in the Indian market are witnessing heightened competition amid robust growth in the number of passengers in last few months. Domestic air passenger traffic rose more than 15 per cent to 91.34 lakh in April, data from aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) showed.
Many airlines – including AirAsia, GoAir, IndiGo and Vistara – have announced discounted tariffs in the recent past.
Jet Airways had earlier this month offered similar discounts in another limited-period scheme. It reported a nearly 95 per cent fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 23 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2017. Even though the full service airline carried more number of passengers in the quarter under review, it had a higher net profit of Rs. 426 crore in the three months ended March 2016.
