The projects namely Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) and Delhi-Meerut Expressway have been taken up through National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for improving connectivity in National Capital Region. The EPE project has been completed. Various other projects for connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram have also been taken up such as construction of underpasses at IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower and Rajiv Chowk on Delhi – Gurugram road which have been completed. Some other projects i.e. Dwarka Expressway, Improvement of T-Junction near Dhaula Kuan Metro Station & improvement of T-Junction near Defence Area on NH-48, Construction of Flyover and Underpass at Hero Honda Chowk on Delhi – Gurugram road, Construction of Grade Separated U Turn on NH-48 near Ambience Mall and Grade separated U Turn near DLF Phase II etc. have also been initiated. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Western Airport Connectivity from Dwarka Expressway through tunnel and Rangpuri Bypass has been initiated. Moreover, the DND-Faridabad-Ballabgarh project has also been conceptualized in this National Capital Region.
The feasibility study has been initiated for the proposed road connecting Gurugram and Delhi through Aravali Biodiversity Park. Some environmental concerns have been raised in this regard. The alignment of this road has not been finalized and the same is envisaged for finalization in consultation with all the stakeholders including State Governments.
