Coronavirus: This too shall pass | By Ramita Taeja

Corona virus has hit India after touching many other countries in last few weeks. There is a state of panic and rightly so because every media platform, every individual, every read is about why, how, where and severity of this virus.

My thoughts wander to my older generations who used to say, “One day when things go out of control, there will be Pralay (catastrophe).” Has the time came?

Hasn’t Mother Earth been giving us subtle hints from last many years in form of Global warming, melting of glaciers, changes in weather conditions, forest fires, but we have just ignored them simply because it didn’t affect us directly.

Today, when this virus has hit us, our loved ones, we are panicking. It’s High time we panic, but not for coronavirus

We must panic because it took coronavirus to teach us to have basic etiquette to cover our nose mouth while sneezing / coughing

  • It took coronavirus to teach us to slow down at work, take breaks
  • It took coronavirus to teach us to use stairs, be more fit and build immunity
  • It took coronavirus to teach us that we should enjoy our holidays with families and not run to malls every holiday
  • It look coronavirus to teach us that animals have lives too, barbaric killing of animals for so called delicacies is inhuman.
  • It took coronavirus to teach us to enjoy a lovely meal cooked at home and eaten by family together.
  • Iit took coronavirus to get the traffic off the roads and reduce pollution.
  • It took coronavirus to teach us to get into the habit of reading again.
  • It took coronavirus to say Namestay to the world.
  • It took coronavirus to teach us once again that there is an Almighty..
  • The virus will soon be gone, but by then we will forget the lessons it came to teach. Once again there will be a new day, a day of relief when the Air will be fresher, Sky will be clearer, the Sun will be brighter, the Families will be Loving, the animals will live. But we will forget it too soon.
