IIMC Alumni Association felicitates winners of IFFCO IIMCAA Awards, 27 scholarships announced

New Delhi, February 9, 2020: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) announced winners of the 4th IFFCO IIMCAA Awards’ during the annual alumni meet – Connections 2020, held on Sunday at IIMC HQ in New Delhi. The eighth edition of the national-level alumni meet announced 20 new scholarships with the help of alumni and well-wishers across the country, taking the total tally of scholarships to 27.

 

The national meet of Connections 2020 in Delhi will be followed by chapter-level meets in other major cities in India and abroad, including Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kochi, Bengaluru, Dubai, Singapore, Dhaka and Kathmandu – over the next two months.

 

The IIMC Alumni Association also hosted a Hasya Kavi Sammelan in which Shri Surendra Sharma and Shri Sampat Saral enthralled the audience with their performance.

 

Mr. K.S. Dhatwalia, Director-General, IIMC; IIMCAA President Mr. Prasad Sanyal (Chief Content Officer – HT Digital Streams); IIMCAA Awards Convenor Mr Rajeev Deshpande (Chief of National Bureau – The Times of India); IIMCAA Awards Auditor Mr. Mayank Agrawal (DG – Doordarshan News); Principal Organiser Mr Supriya Prasad (Managing Editor – Aaj Tak & India Today); National Meet Convenor Mr Rahul Sharma (MD – APCO Worldwide) and State Meets Convenor Mr Nitin Pradhan were present at the event.

 

In the 4th IFFCO IIMCAA Awards, 30 Mass Communication professionals were awarded cash prizes of INR 21,000 to INR 51,000 and 13 special jury mentions were awarded certificates and trophies. This year, Business Standard’s Special Correspondent Somesh Jha was awarded ‘Alumni of the Year’, while Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) founder Arun Krishnamurthy was felicitated for ‘Public Service’.

 

Awards were given in various categories including 11 Awards in Reporting, 12 awards in Production, 7 awards in Advertising, PR & Communications and 1 in media research. Priyamvada Rana and Pratyush Deep Kotoky were jointly awarded the highest winning amount of INR 51,000 for Agricultural reporting while others received the winning amount of INR 21,000.
