Mangaluru : The annular solar eclipse wittnessed 94 persent as moon covers the sun in Mangaluru.

The Sun appears as a ring (annulus) around the Moon. Solar eclipse is a natural phenomenon that occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth.

In the Annular Solar Eclipse, Moon does not completely obscure the Sun as the Moon is farther away from us than normal, making it appear smaller. As a result, the Sun is not totally eclipsed, leaving a ‘Ring of Fire’ around the edges. This is the third and final solar eclipse of the year 2019.

The students and public gathered Kuttamath Government Higher Secondary School at Cheruvathur in Kasaragod district where the eclipse is visible first.
