New Delhi, 14th October 2019: Wishes and Blessings, a Delhi-based non-profit organization, organized a Dental Check-up Camp for the underprivileged children at Modi Milli Shelter Home, New Friends Colony. More than 30 children between 4 to 15 years of age participated in the camp. The main aim behind the camp was to spread awareness about oral hygiene from an early age. Dr Shikha Goel, Dentist at Goel Dental – Dental Clinic examined the kids, diagnosed their problems and shared her views on the importance of dental treatment.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Shikha Goel said, “Kids at this age are very energetic, they play a lot and eat a lot. But little do they focus on their teeth. Poor oral hygiene can result in various problems. So, it is important for them to understand the importance of maintaining dental cleanliness.”
“Underprivileged children struggle to have access to basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. Once these needs are met, they will be able to focus on larger goals, including that of education. However, concepts like dental hygiene remain so far out of their world, that they either treat it as a luxury or not important at all.” said Dr Geetanjali Chopra, Founder and President of Wishes and Blessings.
With the mission to spread a smile, promote education, nurture good health, offer support and create opportunity, the Dental Check-Up Camp was concluded by distributing the dental kits and stationery hampers to the underprivileged kids.
