Faridabad journalist beaten by goons for objecting on drinking liquor on public place

The situation of law and order in industrial town of Faridabad is witnessing a downward
trend over the last few years. The situation has reached to such a worse condition that even
the journalists are feeling safe in this city. Known for a friendly media, the goons and law
offenders are taking the media persons for granted with a number of cases of violence
against the journalists of the Faridabad being reported in the last couple of years.

 

 
In the recent case, Yogesh Gautam, one of the journalists running his own news portal was
thrashed by goons just for objecting to goons drinking liquor in their Car parked outside the
house of Yogesh. According to the complaint filed by his wife Anita, Yogesh returned from
his office around 10pm only to find a Scorpio parked outside his house in which 5-6 people
were enjoying biryani and consuming liquor. On making objection, Yogesh was beaten blue
and black by these goons.

 

 

Anita also alleged these goons snatching away gold chain of
Yogesh before fleeing from the spot. Widespread protests has been launched by the media
persons of Faridabad and other neighboring towns. Police sources informed that a case has
been lodged under different sections and police is looking forward to arrest the accused at
the earliest. Sources informed three of the accused being nabbed by the police for
interrogation. Others are still at large. Police commissioner K.K. Rao, who has recently
assumed charged in the city, has assured to take immediate steps to nab the other accused
too.

 
It is worth mentioning here that in the recent past another journalist, Harinder was
thrashed by the goons without being provoked by Harinder in the Ballabgarh area. Prior to
this son of a Journalist Sanjay Sharma was killed by the youngsters without any reason in
broad daylight. In this case also the police was seen helpless as the accused were nabbed
and immediately released on bail by the local police. Earlier to this also two of the senior
journalists have been thrashed by the goons in the last one year. Media people have raised
concern over the rising number of the violence against the media persons and the way
police is maintaining an indifferent view on such incidents. Local media has decided to
launch much wider protests against such atrocities against media fraternity.
