Delhi Police Special Cell nabs two arms dealers

New Delhi, The Delhi Police Special Cell has nabbed two illegal arms traffickers and seized around 23 illegal pistols and 50 rounds of live ammunition from their possession, the police said on Tuesday. They were apprehended near Shanti Van bus stop at Ring Road here on Saturday afternoon. Both Akshay Adhawade and Chandpasha are identified as Maharashtra-based arms traffickers, the police said. According to police, with the arrest of the two, an imminent murder has been averted. A case under appropriate sections of the Arms Act has been registered at the Police Station Special Cell in this regard. One of the accused Akshay was earlier arrested by the Pune Police in an attempt to murder case in 2017. They were involved in supplying weapons to the criminals in Delhi and NCR region, the police said and further added that the probe is underway in the matter to find about about more linkages.
