Sushma Swaraj met her better half during their college days and later as legal advisors practising in Supreme Court. They proceeded to enjoy and appreciate 44 years of marriage.

Sushma Swaraj delighted a lovely kinship with spouse Swaraj Kaushal and their story was known to everybody. The Swaraj romantic tale began in their college days and was seen by the new age when Sushma Swaraj said she needed to quit politics since she wanted to spend more time with her better half.

Her significant other, fellow lawyer and best friend, Swaraj Kaushal won the hearts of the Netizens when he said ‘Thank you very much for your decision not to contest any more elections.I recall there came a time when even Milkha Singh quit running.’

The two met during their college days while studying law in Delhi. The two adherents of different philosophies – Sushma Swaraj had her foundations in RSS while Swaraj Kaushal had a socialist conviction framework – met and fell in love with each other.

Both of them worked together in Supreme Court as a part of a team of legal counselors who challenged the instance of George Fernandes during the Emergency days of the Indira Gandhi system.

The two got hitched in the height of Emergency on July 13, 1975. Days before her passing on August 6, the couple celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Getting hitched was not a simple undertaking for the two as their families raised issue with the match. Sushma Swaraj hailed from a conventional Haryana family. She proceeded to accept her husband’s name as her surname.

The couple is blessed with a daughter, who they named Bansuri Swaraj. She additionally proceeded to become a lawyer.

In her last public appearance, Sushma Swaraj went to the oath taking ceremony of the Modi government at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
