NASA Lauds ISRO on the Successful Launch of Chandrayaan 2

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration aka NASA took its official Twitter page to congratulate ISRO on the successful launch of its mission Chandrayaan-2. It even said that it’s looking forward to knowing the accomplishments of ISRO through its Indian Space agency regarding the lunar south pole.

The tweet reads, ‘Congrats to Isro on the launch of Chandrayaan 2, a mission to study the Moon. We’re proud to support your mission comms using our Deep Space Network and look forward to what you learn about the lunar South pole where we will send astronauts on our #Artemis mission in a few years.’

After launching Chandrayaan-2 successful, it has turned out to become headlines on the international media. ISRO launched a powerful rocket GSLV MkIII M1 from the spaceport in Sriharikota at 2.43 PM and placed the 3850 Kg Chandrayaan-2 into the orbit of the earth almost 16 minutes later. One of the leading US newspapers wrote, ‘India is on its way to the moon.’

This successful launch took place pretty close to the upcoming 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11, the time man initially stepped on the man. India even made an announcement regarding its intention towards sending a manned space mission by the year 2022.

The New York Times posted a comment that reads, ‘If the rest of the mission goes as well, India will become the fourth nation — after the United States, Russia, and China — to land on the moon, more than 200,000 miles away. Its target is a region near the enigmatic south pole, where no other missions have explored.’

The launch of illustrates the prowess of our scientists and the determination of 130 crore Indians to scale new frontiers of science.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also congratulated ISRO over its successful launch. He wrote, ‘Special moments that will be etched in the annals of our glorious history!
