The Ujjawala Scheme is for prevention of trafficking, rescue, rehabilitation, re-integration and repatriation of victims of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation. There are 254 projects including 134 Protective and Rehabilitative Homes in the country. The number of beneficiaries are 5,291.
Separate data in respect of the number of cases registered, agencies registered and the number of women rehabilitated under the prevention, rescue, rehabilitation, re-integration, repatriation components of the scheme are not maintained.
This scheme is helping the beneficiaries by making a change in their life. The details of Ujjawala Projects, Ujjawala Homes and the number of beneficiaries under the Scheme are given below:
