Belagavi: The Income Tax Department continued to raid the residences of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and their close aides, here on Monday, April 22.
Today, the I-T officials raided the residence of District BJP General Secretary Gurupada Kalli who is said to be a close associate of the party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Belagavi constituency, Suresh Angadi. The officials were investigating all the necessary documents, thoroughly.
Also they have conducted a raid on Angadi’s relative Shankargowda Patil’s residence, which the latter has confirmed.
Addressing the media, Patil said that they were leading a simple life and that the family had co-operated with the I-T officials.
He said that after investigating the officers had returned Rs 2 Lakh and jewellery and asked him to produce records of every asset.
