Hon’ble Congress President Rahul Gandhi has appointed the Vice Chairman, National coordinator and Joint Coordinators of Kisan Congress. Due to Shri Ajit Kataria’s excellent work and contribution in Rajasthan’s Vidhan Sabha elections, he has been appointed as one of the seven National Coordinators of the Kisan Congress.
The General Secretary of All India Congress Committee Shri KC Venugopal, MP Lok Sabha announced these appointments by issuing a press release (attached for your reference).
On his appointment, Shri Ajit Kataria said, “I am very thankful to Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi and Shri Nanabhau Patole for giving me this opportunity to work as the National Coordinator of the Kisan Congress. I have always been determined to work for the welfare and betterment of our farmers and will continue to work for them now as well. There has been a long-standing plea of the farmers to waive off their debt but nothing has been considered in this regard by the present government. Moreover, there has been an immense increase in farmer suicides in the past five years. The BJP government is pro industrialists and has waived off their debts whereas the farmers are suffering from the financial burden. During the time of Congress, we had waived off Rs. 60,000 crores of debt on the farmers and we promise to continue working for their welfare. Our government had formulated and implemented many policies in the favor of the farmers including The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act. We promise to take care of all the farmers at a national level as we did so in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan etc.”
Nanabhau Patole, Chairman, All India Kisan Congress said, “Shri Ajit Kataria has been associated with the Congress for a very long time now. He was the Chairman of the National Child Labor Committee during the UPA I government in 2005 and has always worked according to the principles of the party. His contribution to the Rajasthan’s Vidhan Sabha elections was commendable and we have full faith that he will perform his role and responsibilities with utter determination in this present position.”
