New Delhi : Statement of DJB Vice Chairman Dinesh Mohania on the death of 5 labourers due to the leakage of poisonous gas from STP Tank at DLF Capital Green, Motinagar:
It’s highly tragic that 5 labourers lost their lives due to the leakage of poisonous gas from STP at DLF Capital Green, Moti Nagar in Delhi.
Immediately after the government came to know of the incident, it has ordered an investigation in the matter and a report has to be submitted to Labour Department within the next 3 days. As an immediate support to the families of the deceased, each family is being provided with a financial help of Rs.10 lakhs by the Delhi Government.
It’s was a very tragic accident, but as the Vice Chairperson of the DJB I want to clear that neither the Sewer Line in Capital Green is of Delhi Jal Board, nor is the STP, both are owned by DLF. DLF only holds the responsibility of its maintenance. The permission for the construction of this STP was given by MCD.
