Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi, the former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and 1970 batch IAS officer had quit the IAS when he was District Collector of undivided Madhya Pradesh in 1985 and joined the Congress Party in 1986 before forming his own party in 2016. Now District Collector of Raipur, O P Chaudhary, IAS of 2005 batch of Chhattisgarh cadre has quit the IAS to reportedly jump in to politics. Chaudhary could contest upcoming Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh from the Kharsia seat on a BJP ticket from his home district Raigarh against Congress Party’s sitting MLA Umesh Patel.
