The Jawaharlal Nehru University has dropped its plan to start a course on ‘Islamic terrorism’ following objections raised by some professors and the Delhi Minorities Commission. The Commission had issued a notice to JNU, stating the course would "create wrong notions about Muslims" and "deteriorate" the communal atmosphere. Instead, it suggested a course on how religions are being misused.
