Agartala: As if Tripura Chief Minister has vowed to kick one controversy after the other. From claiming ‘internet existed during Mahabharat Era’, to ridiculing Diana Hayden’s Miss World title to arguing that ‘mechanical engineers should not opt for civil services’, Biplab Deb continues to make weird statements.
The Tripura Chief has now advised the educated youth in his state to “set up paan shops instead of running after political parties for several years to get government jobs and waste vital time of their life.” Deb believes, if they would have opted for these employment options, they would have gathered a bank balance of Rs 5 lakh.
He urged educated youth to become self-employed by starting various projects with bank loans under the Prime Minister’s Mudra scheme. Deb, while speaking at a seminar organised by the Tripura Veterinary Council on Sunday, advised youths to start “milking cows” to become self-employed.
“Every household should have a cow. Milk sells at Rs 50 per litre; instead of being jobless for 10 years, if these people sold milk, they would have had a bank balance of Rs 10 lakh by now,” the CM added.
Interestingly, in January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a TV interview had considered a person selling pakodas as employed.
