There is no hidden facts about the medical facilities available for general public in Hospitals be it infrastructure, equipments, beds, availability of the Doctors and other staff etc. Just by announcing medical coverage scheme Government washes its hands rather. Need is for taking bold steps to check spiralling cost of Hospitalization. If the Government is really sincere then 1) It should reduce the Premium charges for availing medical insurance. 2) Abolish Service Tax on Health insurance premium. 3) Control prices of essential drugs and make them available to the needy. 4) Make available quality and affordable Medical facilities for every Indian.
Further whether the policy would facilitate free medical coverage in all the Hospitals to every Indian and to what extent. Whether the policy would only become a dream document to be dumped later on finding it be financially unviable.
Why not make a law "Fundamental Right to Public Health" and then work on it.
