The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government presents its third budget since coming to power in 2015 on March 8, 2017. Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal, in his half and hour long speech on March 6 had highlighted the work done by the AAP government in these years; health and education being the key highlights of his speech. Baijal added that the AAP government’s 50% subsidy on the monthly power consumption of up to 400 units would also continue in the future. This year’s budget is also expected to be focusing on health and education. So much so that about 25% of the entire budget is expected to be centred around the education sector.
