Indian sporting legend, Chungneijang Mary KomHmangte won many accolades for the country. She is an Olympic Indian boxer and is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion. She is the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each of the six world championships. She is called as ‘Magnificent Mary’. Mary Kom became the first Indian woman boxer to fetch a Gold Medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea.
She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
