Indian First Ladies-SainaNehwal – First badminton player to win an Olympic medal

India is fortunate to have had many great women, who are playing stellar role in their respective fields. SainaNehwal, is an inspiration to many. She is the only Indian to have won a medal in every Badminton World Federation major individual event. She is the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal, along with being the only Indian to have won the BWF World Junior Championships. In 2006, Nehwal became the first Indian female and the youngest Asian to win a 4-star tournament and won Super Series title. In 2016, Government honored her contribution with Padma Bhushan and she was also  conferred with Rajiv Gandhi Khel  Ratna and the Arjuna Award.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
