Indian First Ladies-Anju Mangla – First woman Superintendent in Tihar Men’s Jail

Anju Mangla is an epitome of Indian women, who have the ability to influence positive outcomes with maximum impact. She has been working with the Prison Department since October 2013 as Superintendent of Prison, women jail, Tihar and took charge of the jail for men in July 2016. She recently received the DG’s Commendation Disc for her outstanding contribution to the reformative and rehabilitative activities in the prison. She has initiated a Gurukul system of education, in the premises of jail, which includes daily sessions of PT and Yoga, literacy classes, skill development programs, sports and recreational activities and a program to tackle the menace of drug abuse.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi
