Rampur, Jan 7: A woman in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh has accused a man of repeatedly raping and blackmailing her, with a video of the crime, for past one year. The victim mustered the courage to register an FIR after she got pregnant and the accused refused to marry her.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the Rampur police has registered a case against four people.
“A case has been registered against four people under section 376 IPC . Victim’s statement is being recorded and medical examination is being done,” Sudha Singh ASP Rampur said to news agency ANI.
The victim said, “The accused threatened me of uploading the video on internet if I informed anyone about the incident. He raped me for a year by threatening me by showing the video.”
The accused and his family are currently absconding.
