New Delhi, Jan 5: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to announce its date sheet for annual matriculate and intermediate examinations to be conducted in March on Friday. The board, responsible for conducting the all India level matriculation and intermediate exams, may delay the dates owing to assembly elections in four states including Karnataka.
The board officials had said that an exact date for the announcement of exams will not be possible to reveal. “Since the Board is currently working on the formalities of the exam, an exact date for the date sheet can’t be ascertained at the moment. However the date sheets will be released in the first week of January,” the official was quoted by CNN TV 18 as saying. [Also read: CBSE UGC NET 2017 Results Declared on cbsenet.nic.in]
Earlier, another board Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) had stated that it will announce the dates only after the Election Commission announces its dates for assembly polls.
For the previous year, the board had declared the dates on Jan 9, 2017. Board exams for Class 10 were conducted from March 9 to April 10 and Class 12 exam was held from March 9 till April 29. The announcement of dates are likely to ease the students and their parents from the pressure. Many education experts had opined that the board may announce the dates in the second week of January.
