Rahul Questions Modi Govt Over 7th Pay Commission, Growing Unemployment

New Delhi, December 4: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over unemployment, and fixed and contract workers not getting their due even after the implementation of 7th Pay Commission. Raising the sixth question ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections, Rahul asked why fixed contractual workers being paid Rs 5,500 and Rs 10,000 per month when their monthly pay is Rs 18,000.

In his “a question a day” series, Rahul tweeted, “This is the double whammy of the BJP — on the one hand, youth is unemployed and on the other fixed and contractual workers are not getting their due. Despite 7th pay commission recommendations suggesting Rs 18,000 per month as minimum pay, why is the pay for fixed and contract workers at Rs 5,500 and Rs 10,000?”
