Now, Azam Khan Jumps Into Padmavati Row

New Delhi, Nov 21: Adding fuel to the raging controversy over Deepika Padukone-starrer movie Padmavati, former Uttar Pradesh Minister and Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Tuesday described Muslims as ‘large-hearted’ who are aware that a film can’t ruin their history.

Speaking at an event in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, Azam Khan said facts were distorted in the movie Mughal-e-Azam too but the Muslims never objected to it.

“There is objection over story of a film. Famous film Mughal-e-Azam showed Anarkali as Saleem’s mehbooba (lover), but in reality there was no such thing. Muslims never objected because it is a story. Muslims are large-hearted… they know a film can’t ruin their history,” the outspoken leader said.
