SDMC to set up bio gas plant in Najafgarh

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to set up a bio gas plant in Najafgarh area with capacity for management of 150 metric tonne dung and kitchen waste refuse per day. The bio gas plant is to be set up over a two acre land near Goyala Dairy Road in Nazafgarh zone of South Delhi Municipal Corporation(SDMC) said a senior municipal corporation officer.

Delhi woman, daughter found dead; two-year-old stabbed 20 times: Autopsy

Post-mortem examination of a woman and daughter found dead in east Delhi’s Mandawali on January 9 has revealed that the two-year-old girl was stabbed more than 20 times, while the woman, aged 25, was stabbed five times, police said. But a murder weapon is yet to be recovered, and police are yet to ascertain if the incident was a double murder, or if the woman, Geetanjali, murdered her daughter, Ananya, before taking her own life.

NDMC ties up with MTNL in second attempt at offering free Wi-Fi

With its ambitious Wi-Fi project in Connaught Place and Khan Market losing popularity due to poor connectivity, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has now tied up with MTNL in a fresh attempt at offering free internet connectivity in its areas. NDMC had partnered with Tata Teleservices in 2014 to provide the service in inner and outer circles of Connaught Place, one of the significant business and leisure centres in the city.

Delhi: Property dispute decided after five decades with 58 parties

One of the oldest property disputes which dragged three generations of a family to court has reached finality after nearly five decades, with a Delhi court asking the litigants to arrive at a mutual agreement on the partitioning of the three buildings. The litigation which was initiated in 1968 between five parties, including four family members and DDA, has ended up with 58 litigants. The suit was filed between four brothers, all residents of central Delhi, seeking partition of three properties of their father after his death. During pendency of the matter, the original parties had died and the case was pursued by their children, who were the legal heirs, many of whom also died, and grand children.

Delhi govt plans to construct foot overbridges on PPP model

The AAP dispensation is mulling constructing foot overbridges in the national capital on public-private partnership (PPP) model, to reduce financial burden on the government. PWD Minister Satyendar Jain has asked the department to commission a feasibility study on the new concept so that private players could be attracted to build more such facilities to meet growing demand.
