Proposal of increasing salaries of guest teachers has been finally approved by LG. Salaries of PGT guest teachers have been increased from 21k to 34k. Salaries of TGT guest teachers have been increased from 18k to 33k. Salaries of assistant teachers have been increased from 16k to 32k. Hike in the pay of guest teachers is a momentary decision towards honoring them as teachers. In coming years with the enhancement of educational reforms and infrastructure, more teachers will be hired.

The announcement will be made at 2.30 pm at the Delhi Secretariat, ITO, according to advertisements splashed across newspapers in the capital today. "We are committed to provide affordable and quality healthcare to all citizens of Delhi," state Health Minister Satyendar Jain is quoted saying.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Thursday morning led a protest march outside Delhi University’s North Campus’ Art Faculty. The protest march which began from the university’s North Campus’s Art Faculty moved towards Khalsa College, amidst slogans of ‘Afzal ke yaaron bharat chhodo’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Protesters held placards that read ‘Anti nationals go back’ and ‘Save our campus’. Members of the the RSS-backed students’ union said the march was to reclaim DU from ‘left groups’ as well as protest violence against RSS and BJP workers across the country.

Humid morning in Delhi

It was a humid morning in the national capital today with the minimum temperature settling at 3 notches above normal.

"The minimum temperature was recorded at 15 degrees Celsius while the humidity was 73 per cent," a MeT official said here. The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for the day with the possibility of haze tomorrow morning.
