Students Are Confused Over New CET Exam Pattern

Mumbai, Oct 3: At least 3 lakh candidates appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for engineering courses in Maharashtra are puzzled as the government has not announced the new paper pattern yet. In March 2017, the department of higher and technical education announced the decision of change in MH CET exam pattern. It mentioned that the CET exam pattern will be changed from 2018 so that it equivalents with the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE).

Dayanand Meshram, Joint Director of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) said that they have not received any update from the government about the changes. Meshram stated that once they are notified about it, the announcement will be made on the official website, reported DNA.

When the decision was announced, it was clarified that like JEE, CET exam will not have negative marking. However, the exam will consist of 30 per cent Class 11 syllabus and 70 per cent class 12 syllabus. Till last year, CET exams were conducted based on Class 12 syllabus only.
