#lovestory of Priya Semwal who joined the army to honour her husband who died in combat

The mother of then four-year-old Khwahish Sharma, Semwal’s future looked bleak when she heard that her husband Naik Amit Sharma, serving with the 14 Rajput regiment, died in a counter-insurgency operation near hilly Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh in 2012. But instead of turning against the idea of the military, she decided to join the army as one of the 62 women who are selected as short service officers. In 2014, Priya created history by getting inducted into the technical wing of the armed force as a young officer.
