Four-day Monsoon session of Delhi Assy to begin today

New Delhi: The four-day Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly will begin today at 1400 hrs, with the Opposition BJP planning to target the AAP government on various issues. The session is likely to be stormy as Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta will move an Adjournment Motion on deaths of three sanitation workers in the city due to asphyxiation. Other issues, likely to be raised in the Assembly, are withholding funds of 28 Delhi University colleges by the AAP government over alleged ‘irregularities’ and additional beds in the hospitals. In this session, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government will reintroduce three bills-Minimum Wages (Delhi) Amendment Bill,2015, the Delhi ( Right of citizen to time bound delivery of services) Amendment Bill and NSIT Amendment Bill. The decision to hold the Monsoon Session of the Assembly from August 8-11 was taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last month.
