Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) has termed air pollution the new tobacco, responsible for the deaths of 7 million people worldwide annually. 91% of the world’s population lives in areas with pollution levels above its prescribed limits, and India is home to 9 of the world’s 10 most polluted cities, WHO chief said.
