World Cup 2018, Senegal vs Colombia Highlights: Colombia Through To Last 16 After 1-0 Win Over Senegal

Senegal and Colombia were locked in a goalless draw at halftime in their crunch Group H clash at the Samara Arena. The match saw both teams start with positive intent but there weren’t any clear cut chances for either teams. After ten minutes into the game, both teams started to attack and got closer to the opposition goal. In the 16th minute, Senegal’s penalty decision was overturned after a VAR review. Sadio Mane was brought down in the penalty box by the Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez. Senegal had a set piece chance afterwards but it was easily saved by the Colombian keeper David Ospina. Colombia also had their chances but the Senegalese keeper Khadim N’Diaye wasn’t tested much. Star Colombian player James Rodrigues was substituted due to injury in the 30th minute and was replaced by Luis Muriel. Salif Sane had a chance to give Senegal a lead from a set piece situation but he parried it over the Colombian goal. Senegal looked like opening the scoring but their finishing was poor.
