Madrasa Rape case: Crime Branch to conduct Bone ossification of accused

New Delhi: Crime Branch will not be conducting bone ossification test to determine the accused age in the recent rape case of a minor 10-year-old who was raped in Sahibabad’s Madrasa said the Police Joint Commissioner, Alok Kumar.

Since the arrested accused claims to be minor and 17-years-old, he has failed to submit any documents that would prove his age claim, Indian Express reported.

According to the initial reports, the victim’s family none of the parties in crime know each other since she does not know the accused.

The victim’s maternal uncle said: “She had gone to buy milk at 2.30 pm on April 21 when she was abducted. we don’t know the accused, neither does she.” said her maternal uncle.

The Police has booked the accused under various sections of IPC 376 and POCSO Act’s sections 4 and 6 on Tuesday. The case was later transferred to the Crime Branch.

The victim’s family alleged the minor girl was gang-raped while the Police have not yet made any arrests following the incident.

A Police source said, “We are investigating the role of three other adults. whether they were present during the alleged rape or not, is yet to be investigated.”

Joint Commissioner of Crime Branch, Kumar said, “Since it has just been transferred to the Crime Branch, we are going through all allegations and evidence. the girl did give a statement in front of a magistrate and the MLC, too, points at sexual assault.” “The juvenile accused told us his age is 17 but he hasn’t been able to produce any documents. in that case, we might do an ossification test to ascertain his age,” he said.

Since the crime was reported the girl is currently staying at a shelter home operated by the Child Welfare Committee. The minor girl has undergone two medical examinations.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP Manoj Kumar took to streets or a candlelight march against the accused. Manoj Kumar along with East Delhi MP Maheish Girri had visited the victim’s family on Wednesday.

Mr. Tiwari said since the Madrasa is situated in Up he shall approach the UP CM Yogi Adityanath for help in the investigation, while Girri said he has requested CBI inquiry.
