#NEET2017: MP HC permits all aspirants to apply for NEET-2017 regardless of age

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has permitted all the aspirants to apply For NEET-2017 regardless of age. However, the high court has put a condition that the candidates will be bound by the order passed by the Supreme Court or this Court at subsequent stages”. The interim direction was issued during hearing of three petitions challenging the eligibility criteria. The division bench of Chief Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice S K Gangele while issuing the interim order considered the order passed by the Supreme Court on March 20, 2017 on petitions raising similar issue. The Supreme Court said set the matter be listed for final hearing on March 31, 2017.

As per the Madhya Pradesh High Court the writ petitioners and the intervenors in the Court will be permitted to fill up the forms. The Central Board of Secondary Education, respondent no.4, will accept the forms of the writ petitioner. The court order stated that The challenge in the present writ petitions is to eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS course for which National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, 2017 is being conducted. The challenge to the eligibility criteria is before the Supreme Court as well in Writ Petition (s) (Civil) No.99/2017 whereby the Supreme Court has passed the following order on March 20, 2017. “Let the matter be listed for final hearing on March 31, 2017.
