Indian First Ladies-Anila Jacob- First woman sculptor to receive a national award in 1965

Her father, Late Mr. K. C. S. Panicker organized an association of 30 graduated (Painters & Sculptors) and started the Cholamandal Artists’ Village in 1966. Her works are displayed (Metal, Wood & Granite) in Delhi Lalit Kala Academy and in the Modern Art Museums, Bangalore and Cholamandal Artists’ Village Chennai. Her granite sculptures are in Palakkad Fort, Calicut Beach and Bastian Garden at Fort Cochin, Kerala. A recent installation of a metal sculpture (Copper, Bronze & Brass) and Teak wood is at International Arrival Hall, Terminal Number 3 at the Cochin International Airport.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
