Indian First Ladies-Rajeshwari Chatterjee- First Woman Scientist to pioneer the Field of Microwave Engineering and Antennae Engineering in India

Rajeshwari Chatterjee (24th January 1922 – 3 September 2010) was an Indian scientist and academician. She was the first woman engineer from Karnataka and also the first woman faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore who later become Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering. Her pioneering research was related to Microwave Engineering and Antennae and she produced high quality research which resulted in several papers and books. She received the Mountbatten Prize, J C Bose Memorial Prize, RamLalWadhwa Prize for her outstanding work.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
