Indian First Ladies-Neeru Chadha – First Indian Woman Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea

A significant victory for India came in when Dr.Neeru Chadha became the first woman to be elected as a Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. She is one of the leading experts on International Law in India and has the distinction of serving as the first woman Chief Legal Adviser to the Ministry of External Affairs. She has advised the Government on diverse areas of International Law for more than 25 years and represented India in various bilateral and multilateral meetings and conferences.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
